WANTED: Your Winter Academy session proposals!

Mark your calendars! The 2022 Winter Academy will take place during Exam Week on Monday, December 12 through Thursday, December 15. 

Winter Academy is just as awesome as Fall Academy — full of panel discussions, pedagogy workshops, technology tutorials, information sessions, guest speakers, and more, all specifically designed to support your success as a teacher, scholar, and mentor at W&L — but, alas, shorter in duration.

If you have an idea for a session, please visit go.wlu.edu/wa-request and complete the form. (Completion of the form does not guarantee your proposal will be accepted.)  Requests will be considered in the order in which they are submitted. 

You will be asked for:

  • Session title
  • Session description
  • Presenter(s) name and department
  • Session type
  • If you’d care to offer catering
  • Session duration
  • Preferred days and times from Monday, December 12 – Thursday, December 15

Registration for Winter Academy is Now Open!

Whether you’re seeking new ways to better support students, deepen your familiarity with University resources, or take your scholarship to the next level, there’s a session for everyone. All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.

Sign up now at go.wlu.edu/winteracademy. Please note that registration for all catered sessions will close FIVE (5) business days before the session so that we can provide an accurate headcount to Dining Services. Kindly register for sessions as soon as you know you are able to attend. Thank you!

Academy Workshop on Digital Storytelling Fall 2015

Winter Academy 2016 begins on Monday, December 12 and runs through Friday, December 16.

Sessions include a workshop on Virtual Reality in the IQ Center; a discussion of the Honor System led by members of the student Executive Committee; a panel session of the Mellon Summer Digital Humanities Research Grant awardees; technology sessions on Excel, Box, Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator and much, much more.
