The Harte Center was buzzing with great energy during our Fall Academy Open House!

Many thanks to everyone who explored all that we have to offer, from the Writing Center and Academic Success Coaching and Peer Tutoring to the PLAI Lab and Academic Technologies. It was wonderful to see returning colleagues and meet new colleagues discovering new ways the Harte Center can support teaching, learning, and collaboration across campus.

We look forward to working with you throughout the year—whether you’re seeking writing or tutoring support for your students or experimenting with AI in the classroom. The Harte Center is here to help make your academic journey even more impactful.

Need a copy of the 2021 Fall Academy schedule?

Look no further, friends!

The most up-to-date Fall Academy schedule is always located at go.wlu.edu/fallacademy, but it’s nice to have a print copy, too.

To print the Fall Academy schedule as a foldable booklet:
 
  1. Download the .PDF above.
  2. Open the .PDF in Adobe Acrobat DC.
  3. Choose File > Print and select the desired printer.
  4. Under Pages to Print, select All.
  5. Under Page Sizing & Handling:
    • Select Booklet.
    • Select Both sides for Booklet subset.
    • Select Left for Binding.
    • Select Portrait for Orientation.
  6. Click the Print button. Your screen will look something like this:

  7. Fold in half and enjoy!

Sign up for Fall Academy at go.wlu.edu/fallacademy. There’s something for EVERYONE. Don’t miss out on FREE staff/faculty development.

Fall Academy is two fabulous weeks — Monday, August 23 through Friday, September 3 — of technology instruction, pedagogy discussions, guest speakers, hands-on workshops, panels, and other information sessions for new and returning faculty and staff, offered in coordination with the Harte Center, University Registrar, Dean of the College, Office of the Provost, and other offices. 

NOTE: If you’re interested in any breakfast or lunch sessions, registration will close 5 business days prior to the session in order to give Dining Services an accurate headcount. Kindly register as soon as you know you are able to attend.

Get ready, get set … GO! Time to register for Fall Academy!

WANTED: Your Fall Academy Session Proposals!

Now accepting session proposals for 2020 Fall Academy though Friday, July 17!

This year, Fall Academy will take place from Monday, August 3 to Friday, August 14. Registration will open on July 27 at go.wlu.edu/fallacademy.

If you would like to offer a session during the first week (Aug 3rd – 7th only — week 2 is completely full, sorry), please let us know the following information:

1. Title
2. Description
3. Presenter(s)
4. Duration
5. Format (panel session, information session, guest speaker, workshop, etc.)
6. Preferred days and times from Monday, Aug 3rd to Friday, August 7th — we’ll try to accommodate, but some sessions that are already booked might prevent this.
